Port Moody’s next General Local Election will take place on October 17, 2026

At that time eligible voters for the City of Port Moody will elect:

The Mayor, Councillors, and School Trustees will serve a four-year term from 2026 to 2030.

Advance voting opportunities

Advance voting opportunities will be held on Wednesday, October 7 and Saturday, October 10, 2026 in the Wellness Room at the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Road). Polls are open 8am to 8pm. 

General voting day

General voting day is Saturday, October 17, 2026. Vote at the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Road), Kyle Centre (125 Kyle Street), Heritage Mountain Community Centre (200 Panorama Place), or Glenayre Community Centre (492 Glencoe Drive). Polls are open 8am to 8pm. 

Am I eligible to vote in Port Moody?

You are eligible to vote in the City of Port Moody if you are:

  1. 18 years of age or older on the day of registration (advance registration OR registration at the time of voting);
  2. a Canadian citizen;
  3. a resident of British Columbia for six (6) months immediately before the day of registration;
  4. a resident of the City of Port Moody;
  5. not disqualified by law from voting in an election.

Resident electors can register at Elections BC until August 18, 2026.

You are also eligible to vote in City of Port Moody if:

  1. you are not a resident elector in the City Port Moody, and
  2. you are 18 years of age or older on the day of registration (advance registration OR registration at the time of voting), and
  3. you are a Canadian Citizen, and
  4. a resident of British Columbia for six (6) months immediately before the day of registration; and
  5. you are a registered owner of real property in the City of Port Moody for at least thirty (30) days immediately before the day of registration, and
  6. the property is owned by individuals who are not holding the property in trust for a business or corporation, and
  7. in the case of multiple individual owners registered on title, you have the written consent of the majority of the registered owners to vote on behalf of the property.
